The Next 60 Years

The Next 60 Years

On Saturday 15th November we were pleased to celebrate 60 Years of Dormans Youth Arts Centre with the support of the Mayor of Crawley and many of our partners and supporters.

As part of our showcase we had a line up of young artists including Gina (Mia) Ardinez, Dance Hub with the Y.E.S. Project, our band members performing a range of Beetles tracks, DiLivyo (a disabled young Chagossian) and a group of young Chagossians performing traditional music.

During the course of presentations with the Mayor of Crawley Cllr Sharmila Sivarajah and the High Sheriff of West Sussex Tim Fooks we were also pleased to announce to the community present our plans for an extension and refurbishment to the building for the Next 60 Years with Grummitt Wade Mason demonstrating the drawings they had prepared for a planning application.

Jade Hand from Dance Hub also spoke about the ambitions of CCYS and Dance Hub to develop a leadership pathway for young leaders for joint projects working with partners across Crawley.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day.
